Welcome to the official blog for the Thy Word is Truth Series! We are genuinely thrilled you’ve joined us here. My name is Maria Gee, and I have the very special honor of helping the Foundation do something that is very close to my heart: share tools that transform Bible study.
This blog is an extension of the foundational work we are pouring into each volume of the series. Whether you’re a seasoned scholar or just starting your journey, this space is dedicated to transforming your understanding of God’s Word—moving beyond the surface to grasp the truth and harmony found in scripture.
We are here to help
Consider this your home for practical study tips, theological discussions, and exciting updates as we prepare to release the next books in our series. We are especially excited about the Greek study tools we will release later this year, as we believe they will be especially helpful to your journey towards a deeper understanding of God’s Word.
Check in with us often as we will be regularly posting ideas to help make your bible study time richer and more productive.
The Pierce-Slinkard Foundation & My Role
I’d like to share a little about the Foundation and my role here. My husband and I have been friends of the Pierce family for more than 25 years. We can attest to the fact that they wear the mark of the Christian which Jesus described in John 13:35, “By this men will know you are my disciples if you have love one for another.” We have been on the receiving end of that love many times and can testify that the Pierce-Slinkard family is serious about wanting others to know God and His Word. You can read more about the Pierce-Slinkard Foundation here.
My role here is to help the Foundation get the word out about the tools they are developing. This is a task that aligns perfectly with my passion for Scripture. I am not a Bible Scholar, but I was fortunate enough to grow up with a Bible in my hands. My parents modeled Bible Study for as long as I can remember. As a child I couldn’t wait to learn how to read just so I could read the Bible for myself. I vividly remember the pride I felt when I finished reading it all the way through for the first time. Of course, I didn’t understand much of what I read, but I was hooked!
The beautiful thing is that the basic message of the Bible can be understood by anyone, even by nine-year old little girls. Even more amazing: it never grows dull. With each reading this sixty-year old woman can still see new ways God is revealing himself to her in those very same words.
The Word of God truly is living and active, and our prayer here is that we can help you have a life-long journey with the Word of God.
Let’s dig in together!
